who we are

Ignite Strength + Purify Soul

This is a judgement free environment where we find beauty in imperfection. In our culture, we really don’t care about what brand of yoga pants you’re wearing, or how good your handstand is. We care about pushing your endurance to new limits and challenging you to become the best version of yourself. Yoga isn’t about putting your body in funky positions, it’s about concentrating your mind, flexibility, working on personal strength (inner and outer) and feeling God's presence. God is our root and foundation both in our lives and through our time here in the studio. We invite and welcome anyone interested in beginning, continuing, or enhancing their yoga regimen to practice with us.

Yoga8 suggests a minimum of three sessions a week, although yoga should be practice daily. A little yoga every day is better than one long yoga session.

Class Descriptions

Beginner  /  45 mins  /  73° - 78°

Healing Yoga is a restorative style yoga focused on slow stretches and mindful breathing creating mental clarity and space in the body. This class is very low impact and requires very little stamina. EVERYONE should do this class at least once a week no matter if you are brand new to yoga or the fittest of the fittest.

Chair Yoga

Beginner  /  60 mins  /  73° - 78°

Chair yoga is a great class for those who have disabilities, weight challenges, inflexibility, or who just cannot get on the floor for whatever reason.

The chair replaces the yoga mat and becomes an extension of your body allowing you to take full advantage of yoga’s amazing fitness and health potential. Even if you are in a wheelchair, you can receive the many benefits of chair yoga–the integration of body, mind, and spirit that keeps the yoga practitioner at the top of their game.

Beginner  /  60 mins  /  73° - 78°

Yin yoga works deep into the connective tissues to activate change at that deepest level. Yin is a fantastic way to increase or maintain flexibility as it focuses on the areas around the joints. You’ll immediately notice more open hips, buttery muscles and a major mind detox. In the long run, it will lubricate joints, release the fascia of the body, increase flexibility and positively affect your yang practice.

Beginner  /  30 - 60 mins  /  73° - 78°

Yoga Nidra is a powerful relaxation and meditation technique. This technique induces deep body-mind relaxation with the ultimate goal of increasing self-awareness. Lie down and get comfy!

Hatha Basics

Beginner  /  60 mins  /  73° - 78°

Hatha Basics is a introduction to some of the basic yoga postures. Hatha Yoga combines postures (asanas) with conscious breathing and focus to develop strength, flexibility and mental clarity. Students can expect to develop body awareness and explore varied postures in a mixed-level environment. This class is a nice practice for anyone new to yoga or experienced yogis who want to sharpen their alignment and skills. This class is moderately paced so you will learn the fundamental yoga asanas and principles that create a successful and effective yoga practice.

Hatha Hot

Intermediate  /  60 mins  /  85° - 95°

Hatha Hot consists of the same 26 asanas (poses) that will challenge you mentally while building physical strength, patience, flexibility and endurance. This is more of a stagnate class opposed to a flow class. There will be options to take a flow or rest and breathe. All fitness levels are encouraged to come.

Vinyasa Basics

Beginner - Advanced  /  60 - 75 mins  /  73° - 78°

Vinyasa is a type of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. This class takes a lot of the postures from Hatha Basics and connects them in a continuous movement creating internal heat, strength, flexibility, detox and stress reduction. This is a flow class with little breaks. This class is recommended for all levels. We always offer different levels and modifications for all poses.

Intermediate - Advanced  /  60 mins  /  78° - 85°

The Vinyasa class features asanas (postures) that are linked with the breath with very little rest between postures. It also incorporates use of drishtis, Sanskrit terminology, binds, longer holds, inversions and arm balances. The majority of the class is focused on linking breath with movement, but advanced postures may be workshopped throughout. The Vinyasa class combines the internal benefits of yoga while getting a great workout designed to build your endurance, strength, flexibility and confidence as you flow through a series of asanas (poses).

New yogis may enjoy taking a Hatha or Vinyasa Basics class to become familiar with basic asanas (poses) and lingo. We will be moving fairly fast. Be prepared to sweat.

Power Basics

Beginner  /  60 mins  /  73° - 78°

Power Basics is the Level 1 version of all our power classes. Power is a fitness-based yoga practice that is designed to get the heart rate up, build strength, flexibility, sculpts muscles, increase stamina and endurance. This is a great class for those who are looking for a fitness and yoga all in one class.

Intermediate  /  60 mins  /  73° - 78°

Power is the Level 2 version of all our power classes. Power is a fitness-based vinyasa practice. It is designed to get the heart rate up, build strength, flexibility, sculpts muscles, increase stamina and endurance while students synchronize their breath with their movements. This is a nice sweaty class that will challenge you.

Power Kick-Ur-Asana

Advanced  /  60 - 75mins  /  85° - 90°

Kick-Ur-Asana is a fast paced, make-you-sweat practice that will give yoga a whole other meaning. This class is designed to kick your butt because it is designed to train and condition the muscles to hit the big poses. This class is a total body workout and is good for yoga students who are physically active and interested in the fitness benefits of yoga. Kick-Ur-Asana builds strength, flexibility, sculpts muscles, increases stamina and endurance. Bring lots of water and a towel, because you will need it.

Core 30

Intermediate - Advanced  /  40 mins  /  73° - 78°

Our core is a complex series of muscles extending far beyond our abs. A strong core stabilizes the entire body. This 40 minute class will start with 5 minutes of breathing, intention setting, and relaxation; followed by 30 mins of core work focused on training the muscles in your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen and conclude with 5 minutes of savasana. All levels are welcomed.

Intermediate - Advanced  /  60 mins  /  73° - 78°

High-intensity interval training (HIIT), is a form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods. This is a workout class more than a yoga class. If you love your yoga practice but want to balance it with a different form of fitness then this is for you. It is challenging but all levels are welcomed. You work at your own pace.

Intermediate - Advanced  /  75 mins  /  73° - 78°

Curl up in your own aerial hammock and explore your yoga from a new elevation, take flight. Aerial Yoga offers authentic yoga, with the support of a silk hammock to explore, refine, and advance traditional yoga positions, both in the air and the ground. This class is structured just like our traditional yoga classes starting with centering, warmup, posture focus, inversion and final resting pose/savasana. This unique form of yoga is a total body workout, increases strength, improves circulation, reduces stress (because it is so much fun), lengthens the spine, increase range of motion, improves memory, aids digestion and is a ton of fun.

Prerequisite Needed
A one-time Aerial Yoga Workshop is required before you take Aerial Yoga classes, the 2hr prerequisite is offered several times a the month— check the Schedule to reserve a spot.

Special Cancellation Policy
There is a strict 24-hour cancellation policy or you will be charged for the class— this policy is only for this speciality class.

Freaky Friday

Intermediate - Advanced  /  90 min  /  73° - 78°

Are ready to have some fun? All levels welcomed! It is Friday and it is time to let loose and not take life so seriously. This 90 minute class is designed to get the body warmed up and flowing for the first 45 minutes and the second 45 minutes will be filled with play time. Your play time! Whatever you would like to work on. The instructor will ask at the beginning of class what poses you would like to work on and warm you up to properly practice those poses. This can be any pose you want to practice; it can be a tree pose to the almighty handstand. The instructor will share their time with each student assisting, teaching and guiding each student to their dream pose. It is kind of like a private yoga session in a group setting. Come have fun with us.

“I started at Yoga8 over 6 months ago when I was about 5 ½ months pregnant. I had never done yoga before and all of the instructors were incredibly helpful and encouraging. They continuously worked with me to adjust positions and create a safe workout. Yoga8 truly helped me through the final months of my pregnancy. Each class helped me manage my joint pain, flexibility, and stress. I can’t imagine going through those months without the support of all the people at Yoga8! Thank you!!!!”

Kim, the owner, is such a caring and loving person, you will immediately feel a connection. Her passion for yoga is reflected in the way she teaches and inspires others! She sees every individual that enters her studio as a unique person and gives her all to ensure we understand the cues that will not only help us during the class, but be better for life. Her cues are stuck in my head and help me with my posture and back issues throughout the day. No matter if you are new to yoga or experienced, you will be treated amazing at this place. When I first met Kim, the owner, I was immediately drawn in by her energy as this genuine, caring, loving, peaceful person that I really wanted to be around more. I've taken a few different classes with Kim, Ann and Bonnie and they are all really nice and personable women. I had never done any yoga before Yoga8 and I'm officially addicted. I was looking for a change in my life, something positive and peaceful, something I could do that made me feel good inside and out and so far that's what Yoga8 is doing for me. I couldn't be more pleased!"

The instructors are caring and invested in their students. I'm still experimenting with the different classes, but I'm excited to embark on a journey with Yoga8."

–Caitlin Giddens 11/9/15

"Kim is the real deal!! I'm still not sure if I spent an hour at the spa, a grace filled church, or getting a ridiculous workout!! All the details from light and music changes to cool towels, and encouraging, joyful people made me want to stay for the next class!"

–Becca Herbert 11/5/15

"I was attracted to the "no judgement zone". At 59, and semi-broken down after surgeries, trauma and "life", my body was crying out to me to make it come alive again. I have felt enveloped with encouragement. After less than 10 classes, I am coming alive again. Neuropathy in my feet is becoming manageable and abating. Arthritis in my hands is periodically waning. Pain from two surgeries is becoming negligible and hip damage is stretching its way into flexibility. I have a goal. Not to reach a specific achievement, but to never stop reaching for the next best "feeling". Thank you Kimberley and Pamela for knowing my body will not go some places, but encouraging me to continue and go to the next level of comfort. This is a zone of love and encouragement. I am standing behind beautiful young humans who are twisted like a pretzel yet I feel like a rock star when I see their strength and use it to push myself to the next level."

–Debbie Colwick 8/18/15

"Yoga8 is just what the doctor ordered! I have an very busy schedule, so at the end of the day, Yoga8 is exactly what I need! Kim is amazing! she can work you out, make you laugh, and totally relax you all at the same time! This is the best medicine I could ever take!"

–Kim Ambercrombie 7/2/15

"Love Yoga8! It's yoga for anyone, and any fitness level. There's a class for you!"

–Angie Wood 6/12/15

"I cannot say enough good things about this studio and Kim, the instructor. First off, I feel so welcome when I come. Kim makes everyone feel as though she has known them for years. She lets you go at your own pace and doesn't force you to do anything or any pose that you don't want to. Secondly, I struggle with body issues and stress, but when I come to this class, it is like none of that matters...."

–Heather Crawford 6/8/15

"I adore Yoga8! It's a big, beautiful studio. The people who teach and attend are amazing. There are a variety of different classes. Whether a beginner or having practiced for years, this is the place for all. And, if you are looking for true hot yoga, you just found it!"

–Amy Evans 6/4/15

"Kim is the perfect combination of badass and relaxing.. What more do you need? If you're having a bad day- force yourself to get to the studio and you WILL leave in a great mood, feeling energized, and extra stretchy!!"

–Christy Noble 4/2/15

"I only tried yoga a year ago because I was invited by a few co-workers. I thought it would be fun to try something expectation ended there.  They say "You don't know what you don't know".  So true. I had no idea I needed yoga in my life. I had no idea it was a missing piece.

It is so cliche to say yoga has changed my life, but it truly has.  I started yoga at a time when I was feeling very unsure of myself, not physically, but emotionally.  I was in the thick of a hard personal struggle and yoga gave me confidence. In a million years I wouldn't have expected that. It became so much more than a physical workout. Out of nowhere I started feeling worthwhile.

And Kim?  Kim is the best teacher I could have.  Because she is the best kind of encourager... genuine."

–Mandi Buenger 1/17/15

"Hands down Yoga w Kim is addicting.  She engages each class with passion, instruction, challenging moves and humor and peace of mind all at the same time. It is incredible.  Whole heartedly believe each week I am a better me for attending. Love it, love it.  Thank you Kim."

—Patricia Meadows 1/15/15

"Before attending Yoga8 Hot Yoga class, I thought yoga was stretching only. I never thought that I would be building muscle and sweating like I just ran across the world... These ladies bring the heat! I'm talking about a ridiculously fun workout that really burns some calories. There are all levels of strength! You can be a burns-so-good-participant or a relax-and-stretch participant (or anything in between) all in the same class. It's a NO JUDGMENT ZONE, filled with beautiful souls wanting the best for you. I'm a huge believer not only in them but Yoga! Mind, Body, Soul. #bestplaceever #yogastrength #yogafitness #everyonelovesKim&Angie #IStillDontHaveMyFunkyPinchaGrrr"

—Stevie Johnston 10/26/14

"These ladies (Kim & Angie) go far above and beyond to try and accommodate everyone no matter their physical or mental condition! Thank you so much ladies for doing such a great job at offering a variety of classes for all interests and fitness levels, and always coming to work with a smile! It definitely makes a difference and makes you stand out! Oh yea, and thank you so much for beginning the name of the group with "yoga!" Makes it easy to remember for looking up! :D"

—Ema Humphries 6/19/14

"I love this place and the instructors really care about my health."

—Sherry Speckert 6/9/14

"My personal goal and mission in life is to constantly seek and find joy in the journey, whatever the journey may be, Yoga8 helps me daily to keep that focus and hopefully inspire others in their journey."

—Angie Spence 5/20/14
